| Backer rods are an extruded, chemically inert, closed-cell polyethylene “rope” that is designed to effectively fill in the gaps and openings between logs prior to the application of chinking, caulk or energy seals. Backer rods are flexible and compressible and will form-fit to the irregularities on the surface of the logs. Acting as a median between the chinking and the log gap backer rods form an extra layer of protection from dust, moisture and air. We offer ¼”, 3/8” and ½” backer rod rolls in a variety of lengths to handle all log home and log cabin building needs.
